Hunting has been a longstanding activity of interest for mankind since its more necessary days before the rise and advancement of agriculture, and in the years that have followed hunting has maintained its status as a recreational sport that can also yield some food for those who take part. On the other side of hunting as a sport are the wildlife agencies and officials who regulate hunting practices throughout the seasons. Due to their work and the taxes and fees associated with hunting for sport, funding is put into conservation programs that do incredible work to restore and preserve animal populations in danger of disappearing.
